the digestion is a part of nutrition. digestion turns food into the nutrients the body needs this organs are use in digestion.

-the organs of the digestive system separate the nutrients from the waste substansces. the body uses this nutrients for its vital functions.
-food passes through tubes caled the pharinx and the esphagus food passes from the mouth, to the pharynx from the pharynx to the esophagus and them fron the esophagus to the stomach.
-the stomach is a SAC-LIKE organ.
the opening to the stomach is called the cardia and the exit is called the phylorus.
- the small intestine is a tube leading from the stomach.
